James D. Hughes

James D. Hughes concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, corporate law, municipal matters, business planning, federal estate taxation and estates and trusts. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law.

Jim is a member of the Cumberland County Bar Association as well as the Corporation, Banking and Business Law Section and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is a founder, former board secretary and active member of the Cumberland County Estate Planning Council. Jim is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court of the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Jim previously served as an instructor for the Central Penn Business School (now Central Pennsylvania College) in the areas of both federal and state taxation and estate administration. He is married to Rebecca R. Hughes, and has four children; Ryan, Michael, J.D. and Julianna.
