Shareholder

Isaac P. Wakefield is a Shareholder at Salzmann Hughes, P.C., based in the firm’s Camp Hill office.  For more than a decade, he has helped municipalities, businesses, and individual clients resolve disputes involving a wide range of subject matters in state and federal trial courts, courts of appeal, and before administrative agencies.

Additionally, as the firm's leader in appellate proceedings, Isaac concentrates much of his practice on general litigation and appeals involving matters of statewide importance, frequently on behalf of units of local government.

Recently, Isaac was an integral part of the team of attorneys who represented a coalition of local communities in litigation in the Commonwealth Court’s original jurisdiction, which successfully halted plans to toll several major bridges across Pennsylvania, including the I-83 South Bridge in Harrisburg.

Isaac also serves as solicitor and special counsel to several municipalities and authorities in Central Pennsylvania and across the Commonwealth.  He counsels these entities regarding a wide array of topics including issues involving sewer, water, stormwater, and electric utility service, among others.  His daily involvement with municipal issues allows him to help solve problems quickly, efficiently, and practically.  Isaac also has particular experience advising Pennsylvania boroughs that are public power communities.   He is a member of the Salzmann Hughes, P.C. team serving as solicitor to the Pennsylvania Municipal Electric Association, an association of boroughs that deliver electric power to their residents.

Isaac regularly speaks on and teaches about a host of municipal matters upon invitation from the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association, the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors, the PA State Association of Boroughs, and the Pennsylvania Municipal League.

Isaac earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Grove City College.  He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law.  During law school, Isaac was an Articles Editor on the Penn State Environmental Law Review and a member of the Woolsack Honor Society.  Isaac also served as a senior member on the Penn State Civil Rights Appellate Clinic, where he worked to file briefs in various cases heard by the Supreme Court of the United States.  Prior to joining Salzmann Hughes, Isaac was an associate staff counsel at a 170,000-member state labor organization.

Isaac is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District and Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.  Additionally, he is a certified mediator for the District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
