Attorney Kurt Williams to present PSATS seminars

On Monday, April 20th, Salzmann Hughes, PC attorney Kurt E. Williams will present two seminars at the 93rd Annual Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors Educational Conference and Trade Show in Hershey, Pennsylvania.   The first seminar entitled “Zoning for a Brighter Future,” co-presented with Troy Truax, AICP of Michael Baker International, will show attendees how townships can tailor their ordinances, standards, and processes to most effectively guide development and redevelopment to drive economic and sustainable growth in communities.   The second seminar entitled “Land Use and Zoning Law Update,” will inform attendees on current land use law in Pennsylvania, focusing on recent court decisions and their impacts on township ordinances and planners.

On Saturday, April 7 2018, Salzmann Hughes, P.C. client Shippensburg Investors, LP obtained Final Land Development Approval from the Shippensburg Township Board of Supervisors, to develop a 100-acre tract in the Township’s Industrial zoning district as a 1.1 million square foot warehouse/distribution center. Shippensburg Investors, LP was represented during the rezoning, conditional use, subdivision and land development approval process by Salzmann Hughes, P.C. attorney Kurt E. Williams.

On January 26, 2018, Salzmann Hughes, PC, along with other invited guests and employees of Shaffer Trucking, celebrated the opening of that company’s new facility in New Kingstown, Pennsylvania. Shaffer Trucking is owned by Nebraska-based Crete Carrier. Located across the Carlisle Pike from company’s original facility, the new depot sits on a 14-acre lot and will serve as a hub for 465 drivers and 80 office staff. The new Crete Carrier New Kingstown Terminal grounds will provide parking for 180 tractors and/or trailers. A 40,000-square-foot shop at the terminal offers tractor-trailer service and a body shop. There is also 16,000 square feet of office space.

Salzmann Hughes, PC attorneys James D. Hughes and Kurt E. Williams worked closely with Shaffer Trucking and Silver Spring Township to rezone the land for the new facility, obtain conditional use approval and finally, land development approval.
